Mountainside House  -  Woodstock, New York

Built in 2005, this 2,400 square foot single family home is built on the side of a mountain with a spectacular view of Woodstock, New York, far below.  Like the Streamside House, this house also has an aesthetic dichotomy.  A cottage-like entry facade and a modern glass facade facing south down the mountain.  Since the house is built on bedrock, passive solar energy is easily stored and spread throughout the house.  The living room has a huge stone fireplace and a fourteen foot high glass wall focusing the view upon entry.
