Farmhouse  -  Woodstock, New York

Built in 2003 this 2,300 square foot single family home was built for a client who had just purchased a twelve acre site with a huge red, English style barn.  The design approach was to provide a home similar to the nineteenth century American farmland.  Outside, the building has American farmhouse articulation such as porches, double hung windows, novelty siding, panelized doors, brick chimneys etc.  Built into the side of a hill, the major spaces of the home are planned to take advantage of southern light, solar energy, and views.
